If you have a dog or cat that it setting it off, then the lower quarter of the screen can be blocked out so they don't trigger the motion activation sensor and you still can record pertinent activity above. You can view your recordings by using the included RCA cable to connect to your TV or computer or insert the included 8GB SD card into your computer.
